The people of the ocean is a horror trilogy for children and adolescents (from 9 years and up), written by mother and daughter Viveca and Camilla Sten. The trilogy consists of Child of the Skerries, Child of the Mists and Child of the Arctic Fire and takes place in the archipelago, where Nordic folk beliefs, Swedish fairy tales and old Sailors' superstitions creates thrilling excitement.
We get to follow the main character Tuva, her best friend Rasmus and what it is like to grow up and feel different in a small island community. The sea people address important issues such as bullying and exclusion, but also highlight the environmental problems around the Baltic Sea and how important it is to care for the environment.
